Glyphosate, the active ingredient in Monsanto’s signature herbicide RoundUp, has become a pervasive toxin in the environment and food system. Many foods are now made with RoundUp Ready soy, corn, canola, and some of these same crops are fed to factory farmed animals for meat and dairy products.
This ubiquitous presence of glyphosate is not all that surprising, considering that U.S. farmland has been drenched with more than 2.6 billion pounds of glyphosate since 1992. Many grain and seed crops receive a dose of RoundUp just before harvest in a process known as desiccation.
Unfortunately, what all this means is that our bodies are receptacles for a chemical that the World Health Organization has labeled a “probable carcinogen.”
In 2014, a shocking study found the presence of glyphosate in the breast milk of American mothers, with high levels found in three out of 10 samples. Monsanto soon funded and authored a follow up study which, unsurprisingly, found no glyphosate in breast milk.
Moms Across America (MAA), the same organization that initiated the glyphosate testing in breast milk, has revealed more disturbing news about what’s going into children’s bodies.
Five childhood vaccines were tested and all of them showed the presence of glyphosate.
MAA released their findings in EcoWatch; the preliminary screening results from Microbe Inotech Laboratories Inc. are as follows:
“MMR II (Merk) vaccine had 2.671 parts per billion (ppb) of glyphosate
DTap Adacel (Sanofi Pasteur) vaccine had 0.123 ppb of glyphosate
Influenza Fluvirin (Novaris) 0.331 ppb of glyphosate
HepB Energix-B (Glaxo Smith Kline) 0.325 ppb of glyphosate
Pneumonoccal Vax Polyvalent Pneumovax 23 (Merk) had 0.107 ppb of glyphosate”
The MMR II vaccine is of particular concern as it shows glyphosate levels 25 times higher than the others. While the levels are below that found in foods tested for comparison, the difference is that glyphosate in vaccines is being injected, meaning the toxin bypasses protective functions of the skin and digestive system.
Dr. Toni Bark of the Center for Disease Prevention and Reversal said:
“I am deeply concerned about injecting glyphosate, a known pesticide, directly into children. Neither Roundup nor glyphosate has been tested for safety as an injectable. Injection is a very different route of entry than oral route. Injected toxins, even in minute doses can have profound effects on the organs and the different systems of the body. In addition, injecting a chemical along with an adjuvant or live virus, can induce severe allergic reactions to that substance as vaccines induce the immune system to create antibodies to whatever is included in the vaccine. Since glyphosate is heavily used in corn, soy, wheat, cotton and other commodities, we can expect to see more severe food allergies in the vaccine recipients. In addition, chemicals in ultra low doses, can have powerful effects on physiology behaving almost as hormones, stimulating or suppressing physiological receptors.”
The pathways for glyphosate to appear in vaccines are not entirely known, but some vaccine viruses are grown on gelatin derived from the ligaments of pigs, which are fed diets of RoundUp Ready grains crops, as noted above.
MIT scientist Dr. Stephanie Seneff notes, “Livestock feed is allowed to have up to 400 PPM [parts per million] of glyphosate residues by the EPA, thousands of times higher than has been shown to cause harm in numerous studies.”
Moms Across America has sent letters to the FDA, CDC, EPA and other federal and state agencies urging that vaccines be tested for glyphosate. Earlier this year, the FDA finally agreed to test for glyphosate in food as public outcry became too great to ignore.
But we should not rely on federal agencies, which have a revolving door relationship with Monsanto – the creator of glyphosate – to tell us what is safe. Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., who advocates for safer vaccines through The Mercury Project, issued a warning.
“This calls for independent scientists, without financial ties to Monsanto, to investigate these findings, and if verified, immediate regulatory and legislative action. Lawyers litigating against Monsanto should be looking into the company’s awareness of this contamination and its effect on children. The public needs to be ready for Monsanto and vaccine manufacturer backlash by their PR machines on this potentially grave information.“
