Our Dad, Dany Bilong, passed away on April 22nd in Timberville, Virginia.
He had received the 2nd dose of the COVID vaccine and went back to work. When he didn’t feel well that day, he went to Pilgrim Prides’ health clinic inside where he worked. We don’t know what happened there, but unfortunately, he died.
Over the years, Dad worked in many different fields including information technology and transportation. He was also a talented drummer and performer recording music in the U.S. and his native Cameroon.
Dad’s latest job was at the Pilgrim’s Pride Poultry Plant in Timberville, Virginia. He, like so many other workers in the food sector, had to keep working during the COVID pandemic, to maintain food supply, at risk to their own health. His hard work and dedication was further evident when he worked on the same day as receiving the 2nd dose of the COVID vaccine.
He leaves behind his wife, Ariane Bilong, along with five children ranging in age from 23 years old to 7 years old.
