Got invited to a Sally McManus ‘snap teleconference’ to discuss how the unions will organise to support the yes vote and how to get it across the line. Why do the unions make these sort of political decisions that I bet aren’t supported by the majority of union members. Do the unions even represent workers anymore?

What I find curious is the government and private corporations spending 50-100 million dollars on the yes side of the debate when Our legislation is clear and states…………………………..Section 326 of the Electoral Act provides that a person cannot ask for, receive or obtain, or give, or confer, any property or benefit with the intention of influencing the Vote or candidature of a person at a federal election. Section 119 of the Referendum Act creates an equivalent offence in relation to referendums.
