Incitec Pivot was Australia’s only producer of urea needed to power diesel motors. In November they announced they would stop making the fluid at their Brisbane plant.
Multiple major fuel suppliers have reportedly already been rationing their supply, which could force Australia to ask China to lift its export ban critical fluid needed for truck drivers before Christmas.

Sounds like it was a ‘Clayton’s’ ban. The ban you have when you don’t have a ban.

I work for a AdBlue manufacturing company, this has been going on for over a month. We have been getting calls from South Korea and Japan, and we now get 100+ calls a day locally from transport companies, service stations etc looking for AdBlue as most local suppliers don’t have stock.

They make it in a lab using nitrogen and water to essentially create ammonia and carbon dioxide. Urea in the body is how we get rid of ammonia.

I work for Incitec at brisbane and was just made redundant. For everyone’s information also, South Korea have been sending aeroplanes to collect as much Ad blue from us as they as their country is nearly without. We manufacture not only fertiliser, but urea, ad blue and co2! It’s not good news.
