A group led by members of a Calgary Muslim community gathered once again at Calgary’s City Hall on Friday evening to protest against LGBTQ indoctrination in schools. These protests have been ongoing for several months and have consistently attracted crowds numbering in the hundreds. On the other hand, counter-protesters of varying sizes and intensities have also been present at these events.

The initial protests were sparked by an incident in an Edmonton school where a Muslim student was criticized for opting out of LGBTQ activities, with some calling the student un-Canadian. Coverage of the first protest can be viewed on Rebel News. The organization has been covering all protests against inappropriate content in schools on their website, StopClassroomGrooming.com.

Friday’s protest saw around 100 people gather to express their opposition to radical gender ideology being promoted in schools. The demonstrators insisted that schools should prioritize basic education and allow children to be children, rather than pushing progressive rhetoric. Unlike previous gatherings that saw tensions escalate, shouting matches, and even physical altercations, this event remained peaceful, with opposing sides staying on opposite sides of the streets.

Mahmoud Mourra, the event organizer, spoke about the criminal harassment charge he is facing, which he claims is an attempt to silence him politically. He also expressed concerns about ideologues overstepping their boundaries and assuming authority over parents. Jeff Park from the Alberta Parent’s Union joined the discussion and shared his thoughts on the motivations of the counter-protesters, highlighting how their misguided beliefs are causing them to interfere in the parent-child relationship.

Devlin Gannon, an independent journalist, gave an update on his own ongoing legal battle. He had been arrested and beaten by Calgary police officers during a Covid-19 protest in March 2022. Despite video evidence contradicting the assault charge against him, police are now accusing Gannon of grabbing a male officer’s genitals. The bail terms preventing Gannon from attending protests were lifted just hours before the City Hall gathering, allowing him to provide an update on his situation.

Rebel News places a high priority on the safety of its journalists, often requiring the hiring of security personnel for potentially tense coverage. To continue shedding light on the promotion of radical ideologies in schools, Rebel News relies on support from its audience. Contributions to the Journalist Defence Fund, available at JournalistDefenceFund.com, help ensure the safety of their journalists.

In summary, the protest against LGBTQ indoctrination in Calgary schools led by a Calgary Muslim community continued with another gathering at City Hall. While counter-protesters were also present, the event remained peaceful. The organizer and other guests shared their thoughts and experiences regarding the ongoing protests and related legal issues. Rebel News emphasized the importance of supporting their journalists’ safety through contributions to the Journalist Defence Fund.
