Hundreds of concerned Calgarians from diverse backgrounds and faiths have been gathering in solidarity to protect their rights as primary educators of their children. They are standing against the radical LGBT and gender ideology that is being propagated in public schools. These concerned citizens are not against any specific group but are advocating for schools to prioritize academics and refrain from promoting gender theories that conflict with their values and may contain inappropriate content for children.
Calgary has witnessed strong opposition to this movement, with counter-protesters often showing up in large numbers and confrontations ensuing between the two groups. However, on Wednesday, September 20, people from all across Canada participated in the nationwide “1 Million March 4 Children” protest. The event in Calgary included two marches through the downtown core, with around 1000 protesters supporting the cause and approximately 100 counter-protesters opposing it. Despite some minor clashes, the Calgary Police effectively maintained buffer zones between the opposing sides.
Mahmoud Mourra, the event organizer, emphasized the significance of such protests and expressed his gratitude for seeing people from all over Canada standing united behind a cause that he initiated several months ago in Calgary. Several spiritual leaders, including Pastor Artur Pawlowski and local Imam Abdul Rahman Khattab, highlighted the importance of different faith communities coming together to defend families and children.
Rebel News was joined by Christian apologist Jojo Ruba from Free to Care, Shawn Buckley who served as lead counsel for the National Citizens Inquiry, former Calgary Police Officer Brian Denison, and MartyUpNorth of X (Twitter), all of whom attended the protest to support parents in asserting their rights as primary educators of their children.
