In a recent interview, Kenny Xu, President of Color Us United and author of the upcoming book “School of Woke,” spoke out against the dangerous impacts of Critical Race Theory (CRT) and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI) policies in American schools and universities. Xu argued that these radical leftist ideologies have infiltrated campuses, distorting educational standards and decision-making at the highest levels of academia.

Xu highlighted the exorbitant amount of money that has been spent on public education in the past 30 years, adjusted for inflation. He argued that much of this funding has been dedicated to internalizing critical race theory principles within the school system. Instead of focusing on core subjects like math and science, schools have prioritized teaching black students that society is against them and promoting a false racist narrative. Additionally, schools have hired diversity, equity, and inclusion administrators to teach queer theory and relationship-oriented pedagogy, further derailing students’ education.

Xu provided specific examples of anti-learning policies being implemented in school districts. In Santa Barbara Public Schools, children with immigrant parents, particularly those born in Mexico, are put through a bilingual program where they are taught predominantly in Spanish. Xu argued that this so-called diversity and equity initiative prevents these students from learning English effectively, thereby perpetuating a critical race theory narrative of multiculturalism.

Moreover, Xu raised concerns about the protection of sexual predators within the school system. He mentioned a case in Santa Barbara where a world history teacher, who was an avowed Marxist, preyed on his students. Xu interviewed one of the victims who revealed that the school system protected the predator because he aligned with the progressive CRT agenda. Xu also pointed out that certain nonprofit organizations, which claim to promote social-emotional learning, enable and protect these predators.

Xu further criticized the infiltration of DEI ideologies in medical schools, corrupting the Hippocratic Oath. He highlighted an oath taken by students at the University of Minnesota Medical School that committed them to Black Lives Matter principles and treating certain groups preferentially. Xu argued that this goes against the fundamental principles of the Hippocratic Oath, which emphasize treating everybody with dignity and respect equally.

However, Xu mentioned that there is growing resistance against these ideologies across the country. He cited the example of William Jacobson, a law professor from Cornell University, who created a website to track educational institutions that propagate Marxist-based CRT ideologies. This backlash against CRT and DEI is gaining momentum, as evidenced by the recent Supreme Court ruling against affirmative action policies. This ruling is expected to have broader implications, shaking up not only college admissions but also corporations and businesses that have been forced to conform to woke ideologies in their hiring and marketing practices.

In conclusion, Kenny Xu’s interview shed light on the damaging effects of CRT and DEI policies in American schools and universities. These radical ideologies have distorted education, protected predators, and corrupted important institutions such as medical schools. However, there is hope as more individuals and organizations are speaking out against these ideologies, leading to a potential shift in societal norms and practices.
