A recent report released by the House Oversight Committee has shed light on the foreign payments received by Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden. Bank records revealed that Hunter Biden and his associates received a total of $20 million from various sources, including Russian and Kazakh officials.
The payments mentioned in the report include funds from Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian energy company, as well as Russian billionaire Yelena Baturina and Kazakh oligarch Kenes Rakishev. These payments were made during the time when Joe Biden served as Vice President of the United States.
According to the Oversight Committee’s official Twitter account, the payments were made to provide access to the Biden network, including Joe Biden himself. The report states that Hunter Biden portrayed his father’s position as a means of selling access and influence.
The report highlights a specific instance in 2014 when a Ukrainian oligarch appointed Hunter Biden and his business partner, Archer, to the board of directors of Burisma Holdings. The oligarch agreed to pay each of them $1 million per year, and shortly after their appointment, then-Vice President Joe Biden visited Ukraine. Hunter Biden claimed credit for this visit, suggesting that it added value to his position.
Furthermore, the bank records indicate that after receiving a payment for a sports car, Archer and Biden arranged for Burisma executives to visit Kazakhstan in 2014. The purpose of this visit was to evaluate a potential three-way deal involving Burisma, a Chinese state-owned company, and the government of Kazakhstan.
Providing further evidence of these transactions, the Oversight Committee shared a link to the full bank records memorandum on their Twitter account. This release follows previous bank records memoranda that were made available for public scrutiny.
Fox News reported on the Chairman of the Oversight Committee, Rep. James Comer, releasing a third memo that unveiled the Biden family’s foreign business dealings. The memo included screenshots of redacted bank records depicting the millions of dollars in payments received by Hunter Biden and his associates from Russian and Kazakhstani oligarchs during Joe Biden’s tenure as Vice President. The memo also mentioned that Joe Biden attended dinners with these individuals and their representatives, as well as participated in phone calls with Hunter Biden’s foreign business associates.
These revelations have raised concerns about the potential conflicts of interest involving the Biden family and their business connections abroad. It remains to be seen how these findings will affect the current administration and the public’s perception of the Biden family’s business dealings.
