January 6th Patriot and former West Virginia House Delegate Derrick Evans has appealed to U.S. DOJ’s Special Counsel Jack Smith to relocate the trial of President Donald Trump to West Virginia, as Trump had suggested prior to being indicted in D.C. last week.
In a passionate statement, Evans expressed his frustration with what he considers an unjust persecution of Trump, stating, “The witch hunt continues. They tried to impeach Trump twice. They’ve indicted Trump three times now. And the third one could be the one that puts Trump in jail ahead of the 2024 election. It is time to stop the madness.” Evans further called prosecutor Jack Smith and the Biden DOJ “Stalinist” and demanded that the Trump trial be moved out of Washington, D.C.
Evans argued that Trump would not receive a fair trial in the District of Criminals, as he referred to it, pointing out that over 90% of district residents voted for Joe Biden and Barack Obama in the last election. He emphasized the need for a fair presidential election in 2024 and firmly stated, “This trial must be moved out of D.C.”
Highlighting Trump’s own suggestion to change the trial venue to West Virginia, Evans voiced his agreement and urged the Department of Justice to set aside what he believed to be a witch trial, and instead facilitate a fair and impartial trial on the merits. He condemned what he perceived as the abuse of the judicial system by President Biden and his associates, describing it as a danger to the nation.
As a prospective officeholder, Evans asserted his commitment to honoring veterans and their sacrifices, emphasizing the need to restore the rule of law and the consent of the governed. He stated, “To do that, we must restore the rule of law and the consent of the governed.” Evans concluded his statement by declaring that if Jack Smith was allowed to conduct a Stalinist Show Trial of a former American president, the only solution would be to remove communists from the DOJ and Washington, D.C.
In related news, it has been reported that West Virginia Representative Carol Miller is facing a primary challenge from a J6 Patriot. Rep. Miller, who has declined to endorse Trump, is now confronted with potential opposition within her own party as the 2024 elections loom.
In summary, Derrick Evans, a prominent figure within the January 6th Patriot movement, has petitioned the U.S. DOJ’s Special Counsel Jack Smith to move the trial of President Donald Trump to West Virginia.
