One of the false narratives surrounding the freedom convoys in Canada last year was that the protesters were prone to violence. However, this couldn’t be further from the truth. In fact, during the demonstrations in Ottawa, crime rates actually decreased in the nation’s capital. The freedom convoy protesters were peaceful and law-abiding citizens exercising their right to protest.

Amidst the peaceful protests, it was revealed that certain members of the Unifor executive, also known as “the resistance,” were inciting violence. Dave Cassidy, a representative of Unifor Local 444 in Windsor, Ontario, threatened to lead a group of autoworkers to the Ambassador Bridge area to confront the freedom convoy protesters. According to evidence submitted to the Public Order Emergency Commission by Superintendent Dana Earley of the Ontario Provincial Police, Cassidy stated that he would bring 1,000 people to “crack heads or bring heavy equipment and push them in the river.” These remarks were reported in the notes from a police liaison team.

The threat of violence from a union leader is extremely concerning. Superintendent Earley expressed her concern about the situation and the potential danger it posed. The superintendent confirmed that the note should be taken literally and that 1,000 Unifor members would arrive to physically assault the Windsor protesters and throw them into the Detroit River. This posed significant safety issues for the public and office personnel.

Dave Cassidy denied making the threatening remarks attributed to him in the police notes. Despite attempts to reach out to Unifor for comment, neither Cassidy nor the media relations team at Unifor’s Toronto headquarters responded. The lack of response from Unifor, especially considering that they represent most of Canada’s state-funded mainstream media journalists, is concerning.

During a visit to Windsor, Rebel News encountered Cassidy at the local Unifor 444 headquarters and attempted to get his side of the story. However, Cassidy chose to flee without saying a word. His silence speaks volumes, raising questions about his accountability and the need for his resignation.

It is disheartening to note that mainstream media outlets failed to cover this outrageous call to violence. The fact that Unifor represents a large portion of Canada’s state-funded media journalists could explain their lack of coverage. The absence of public outcry and demands for Cassidy’s resignation is also troubling.

The video provided by Rebel News captures the encounter with Dave Cassidy and emphasizes the need for accountability. It is essential to question why there hasn’t been more pressure on him to step down from his position.

In conclusion, the false narrative of violence surrounding the freedom convoy protesters is debunked by the evidence of their peaceful demonstrations. However, it is disturbing to discover instances of union leaders like Dave Cassidy inciting violence against these protesters. The lack of response from Unifor and the media’s failure to report on the issue raise concerns about accountability and journalistic integrity. It is crucial to hold individuals like Cassidy accountable for their actions and demand the truth from our media sources.
