In recent news, New Hampshire Secretary of State David Scanlan has been considering the possibility of barring former President Trump from the state ballot for the upcoming elections. Scanlan, who has been labeled as a Globalist RINO (Republican In Name Only), believes that the 14th Amendment could be utilized to disqualify Trump from running. However, it is important to note that Trump has not been convicted of any crimes, and the charges against him do not meet the standards required by the 14th Amendment to remove a presidential candidate from the ballot.
This situation parallels a recent statement made by Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, who revealed that she is collaborating with officials from other swing states in an effort to keep Trump off their respective ballots as well. It is highly likely that these cases will eventually reach the United States Supreme Court for a final decision.
Despite these developments, Chris Agers, the GOP Chairman of New Hampshire, confidently asserts that Scanlan’s attempts to remove Trump from the ballot in their state will ultimately fail. Agers reaffirms his position, stating, “We’re not going to stand for it in New Hampshire. We’re just not going to stand for it. I’ve talked to the Secretary of State. I’ve talked to the Attorney General. I’m very confident that all of the 14 current candidates who applied will be on our ballot.”
The 14th Amendment, which plays a critical role in this conversation, stipulates that individuals “engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the United States” are ineligible to run for the presidency. However, it is crucial to emphasize that Donald Trump has not been convicted of any crimes, nor do his charges meet the level of rebellion against the United States. Even Michael McConnell, a widely respected lawyer from Stanford who openly criticizes Trump, supports the legal opinion that Trump cannot be disqualified from the ballot based on the 14th Amendment’s criteria.
Nonetheless, Secretary of State Benson, a Democrat from Michigan, has pledged to work alongside other Secretaries of State in order to prevent Trump’s inclusion on their respective state ballots. Given this commitment, it is highly likely that one of these Secretaries of State will make an attempt to remove Trump from the ballot, leading to a significant Supreme Court case. In all likelihood, the Supreme Court will rule in favor of Trump remaining on the ballot.
It is worth pondering why these globalists, who claim to have superior ideas to Trump, are so fearful of his presence on the ballot. As the 2024 elections continue to unfold, it is expected that there will be a turbulent journey ahead. Stay tuned to NationalFile for further updates on this matter.
