Russian President Vladimir Putin stated in a recent interview that Russia and Kazakhstan are in a strategic partnership and are collaborating to promote a more just and diversified world order. Putin’s comments were made in an interview with the outlet Kazakhstanskaya Pravda, ahead of his planned visit to Astana for talks with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Putin emphasized the development of a new world order based on international law and stressed Russia’s commitment to building a peaceful, stable, and prosperous Eurasian space. Furthermore, he highlighted the extensive economic ties between the two countries, noting that Russia and Kazakhstan share the world’s longest land border and that Russian companies have invested billions of dollars in Kazakhstan.

In addition to oil and natural gas exploration, Russia and Kazakhstan are also engaged in uranium mining and nuclear power projects. Putin mentioned that Russia’s state corporation Rosatom is prepared to assist Kazakhstan in the construction of an atomic power plant using advanced technologies. This demonstrates the comprehensive nature of the partnership between the two countries.

Moreover, Putin expressed his views on Kazakhstan’s presidency over the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and commended the organization’s focus on cooperation, mutual respect for interests, and cultural diversity. He contrasted this with Western initiatives that have limited participants and emphasized the SCO’s importance in promoting a united front in a complex geopolitical environment.

The Russian president also underlined the significance of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in ensuring economic stability in the region. The EAEU, which includes Russia, Kazakhstan, and several other former Soviet states, serves as an important platform for enhancing trade and economic cooperation.

It has been confirmed that Putin will travel to Kazakhstan to meet with President Tokayev, sign agreements, and participate in the 19th Russia-Kazakhstan Interregional Cooperation Forum. His visit underscores the strength and depth of the strategic partnership between the two countries.

Putin’s forthcoming visit to Kazakhstan signifies the continued commitment of both countries to deepening their strategic partnership and working together to address economic, geopolitical, and regional challenges. The cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan is built on a solid foundation and is expected to contribute to the broader goal of enhancing stability, prosperity, and security in the Eurasian region.

The visit also underscores the strong and multifaceted relationship that continues to expand and thrive, driven by a shared commitment to promoting peace and development in Eurasia. As Russia and Kazakhstan continue to strengthen their strategic partnership, they are well-positioned to play a more influential and proactive role in shaping the geopolitical landscape of the region.

In conclusion, the partnership between Russia and Kazakhstan is instrumental in advancing a more equitable and multi-faceted world order based on international law and mutual respect. With their extensive economic ties, joint projects, and collaboration within international organizations, the two countries are working to create a more stable, prosperous, and harmonious Eurasian region.
