Russian President Vladimir Putin has outlined six key principles that he believes should form the foundations of international relations. Putin presented these principles during a speech at the Valdai International Discussion Club in Sochi.

Putin acknowledged that building international relations is a complex process that can be difficult to predict due to the various challenges and adjustments that life brings. However, he stated that Russia understands what it wants to achieve in this regard. The first principle Putin highlighted is the desire for an open and interconnected world where artificial barriers to communication, creativity, and prosperity are eliminated. Moscow aims to not only preserve the world’s diversity but also make it the basis for universal development.

The second principle is maximum representation for all nations, ensuring that no one country can assert its will over others. Putin emphasized that no nation has the right to rule the world on behalf of others. Instead, decision-making should be collective and made by those participants who can contribute significantly to resolving specific problems.

The third principle is security for all, which Putin believes will lead to lasting peace. He stressed the importance of respecting the interests of all countries, regardless of their size or power. Putin urged the international community to abandon pride and arrogance and treat others as equal partners, rejecting the notion of second-class partnerships or outcasts.

Universal justice is the fourth principle Putin emphasized. He argued that no country should be exploited by another, and access to the benefits of modern development should be provided to everyone. Any attempt to limit another country’s progress should be considered an act of aggression.

Equality is the fifth principle highlighted by Putin. He stated that no country is willing to be subservient and dependent on others, particularly those that are wealthier and more powerful. This principle, according to Putin, is not only a natural state of the international community but also represents the essence of humanity’s historical experience.

In conclusion, President Putin reiterated his commitment to these principles, stating that they are critical for building stable and harmonious international relations. By prioritizing equality, universal justice, and security for all, Putin believes that a more open and interconnected world can be achieved. He called on the international community to set aside pride and arrogance, treating each nation as an equal partner. Putin’s speech at the Valdai International Discussion Club demonstrates Russia’s vision for international relations based on these six key principles.
