An Open Letter to Canada’s Ministers of Education: Protecting Our Children from Radical Woke Ideology, Sexualization, and Grooming
Dear Ministers of Education,
We write to you today as concerned citizens, deeply troubled by recent events surrounding a drag summer camp for children hosted by Carousel Theatre on Granville Island. It has come to our attention that some media reports have alleged threats of violence against the theatre’s staff by opponents of the camp. We believe it is imperative that you intervene to protect our children from radical woke ideology, sexualization, and grooming.
From July 4-7, children between the ages of 7 and 14 participated in the drag camp, where they were given drag make-up starter kits and received instruction from drag queens on embracing their inner confidence and showing their true colors. While the theatre may argue that it promotes self-expression, we question the appropriateness of exposing young children to sexualized themes and concepts at such an impressionable age.
The theatre’s message to parents, stating that “you’re doing drag, honey, you just don’t know it!” is deeply troubling. It blurs the lines between appropriate attire for different settings and suggests that children should embrace drag as a normal part of their everyday lives. As parents, we believe that it is our responsibility to guide our children and teach them appropriate boundaries and values.
It is not surprising that a group of concerned citizens, opposed to the state-supported theatre’s cross-dressing camp for children, prepared to peacefully protest against it. Similar protests have been occurring across the country, with a recent demonstration against the sexual indoctrination of children in schools taking place on Parliament Hill in Ottawa.
What is unusual, however, is the allegation made by IATSE Local 118, the theatre’s union, that opponents of the event threatened violence against the theatre’s staff. This claim has been published by mainstream media outlets without proper verification, perpetuating a narrative that may not have any merit. When contacted, the Vancouver Police Department confirmed that they had received no reports of threats specifically related to the drag summer camp for children.
It is troubling to see how some media outlets have unquestioningly reported on the union’s allegations without seeking to verify their accuracy. Additionally, these outlets failed to report on the peaceful nature of the small group of protesters who peacefully gathered in front of the theatre and City Hall to express their concerns. We believe in the importance of presenting all sides of a story, and we are grateful for independent journalists who work tirelessly to bring us unbiased reporting.
One such journalist, accompanied by bodyguards for her safety, captured the events at the protest on video. It is clear from her report that the peaceful protesters were met with aggression and intolerance from counter-protesters. The presence of bodyguards and the need for police intervention highlight the potential risks faced by reporters in today’s climate.
As concerned citizens, we call upon you, the Ministers of Education, to intervene in this matter. Our children deserve an education free from the influence of radical woke ideology, inappropriate sexualization, and grooming. We implore you to work towards the protection of our children, ensuring that their innocence and well-being are safeguarded.
We appreciate your attention to this urgent matter and hope for a swift and appropriate response.
Sincerely,

Dear Ministers of Education,
I am writing to express my deep concern about a recent drag summer camp for children hosted by Carousel Theatre on Granville Island. It has come to my attention that some media reports have alleged threats of violence against the theatre’s staff by opponents of the camp.
From July 4-7, children aged 7-14 participated in this camp, where they were given drag make-up starter kits and received instruction from drag queens. While the theatre claims to promote self-expression, I question the appropriateness of exposing young children to sexualized themes and concepts.
The theatre’s message to parents, suggesting that they are “doing drag” without realizing it, is troubling. It blurs the lines between appropriate attire for different settings and potentially encourages children to embrace drag as a normal part of their everyday lives. As a parent, I believe it is my responsibility to guide my child and teach them appropriate boundaries and values.
I understand that a group of concerned citizens peacefully protested against this camp, as they disagreed with the sexualization and radical ideology being promoted. It is concerning, however, that allegations of threats of violence have been made by the theatre’s union, IATSE Local 118. These claims have been reported by mainstream media outlets without proper verification. In fact, when I contacted the Vancouver Police Department, they confirmed that they had received no reports of threats specifically related to the drag summer camp for children.
I am troubled by how some media outlets have unquestioningly reported on these allegations without seeking to verify their accuracy. Additionally, they failed to highlight the peaceful nature of the protest and the concerns raised by the small group of protesters.
I believe in the importance of presenting all sides of a story, and I am grateful for independent journalists who work tirelessly to bring us unbiased reporting. One such journalist, accompanied by bodyguards, captured the events of the protest on video. It is clear from this report that the peaceful protesters were met with aggression and intolerance from counter-protesters. These events underscore the potential risks faced by reporters in today’s climate.
As a concerned citizen, I urge you, as Ministers of Education, to intervene in this matter. Our children deserve an education that is free from the influence of radical woke ideology, inappropriate sexualization, and grooming. I implore you to take action to protect our children’s innocence and well-being.
Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I hope for a swift and appropriate response.
Sincerely,
