Rich Men North of Richmond singer and songwriter, Oliver Anthony, has recently expressed his agreement with the idea that Joe Biden and Ron DeSantis are part of the same globalist uni-party that is allegedly undermining America. In the past few days, Anthony has made statements that strongly suggest his support for this premise.
During the GOP Debate last week, Fox News played Anthony’s song and used it as a question for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Anthony found it amusing to see his song being played at a presidential debate and commented, “I wrote that song about those people, so for them to have to sit and listen to that, that cracks me up.”
However, Anthony clarifies that his song, “Rich Men North of Richmond,” is not a direct attack on Joe Biden but rather a critique aimed at the entire uni-party. He explains, “That song has nothing to do with Joe Biden, you know? It’s a lot bigger than Joe Biden. That song was written about the people on that stage [GOP Debate]. And a lot more too, not just them. But definitely them.”
National File, a news outlet, has taken the lead in exposing Ron DeSantis’ globalist policies. One of the major concerns is DeSantis’ support for free trade, which could potentially harm American farmers. The non-tariff trade policy proposed by DeSantis and Paul Ryan would allow foreign farms to flood the American market with products made using cheap labor, leading to the closure of American farms. The World Economic Forum has advocated for policies that could potentially destroy farms, and the Ryan-DeSantis Free Trade Farm Policy would align with these goals.
Additionally, DeSantis has shown support for perpetuating wars. After a controversial answer on Ukraine funding during an interview with Tucker Carlson, one of DeSantis’ major donors, Ken Griffin, flew to Florida and urged him to change his stance. In a subsequent interview with Piers Morgan, DeSantis referred to Putin as a war criminal.
Considering the similarity in their positions on war and food policies, it is not far-fetched for Oliver Anthony to criticize both Joe Biden and Ron DeSantis. The similarities between the two politicians lend credence to his viewpoint.
In conclusion, Oliver Anthony’s comments suggest that he believes Joe Biden and Ron DeSantis are part of a globalist uni-party that is detrimental to America. Through his song “Rich Men North of Richmond,” he aims to criticize not only Biden but also the entire uni-party. Furthermore, National File has highlighted concerns regarding DeSantis’ globalist policies, particularly his support for free trade policies that could harm American farmers. The similarity in Biden and DeSantis’ positions on war and food policies further supports Anthony’s criticism.
