YouTube has sparked controversy after removing the American flag from its list of live chat emojis, while still offering the gay and trans pride flags as options. This change was highlighted by independent journalist and “Matta of Fact” show host Ryan Matta, who shared a screenshot on Twitter showing only the rainbow gay pride flag and the blue-on-pink-on-white trans flag remaining in the emoji list.
In his tweet, Matta expressed his concern over YouTube’s decision, stating, “@YouTube has removed the American Flag from the list of emojis in the live chat. The only flags you can use in a live stream are the Pride & Pedo flags. If you do not think @YouTube is an enemy of the American people. You are still sleep.”
Subsequently, National File verified Matta’s claim and noticed that not just the American flag, but seemingly all other national flags, had been removed from YouTube’s emoji menu. What was even more striking was that the American flag had been replaced by the gay and trans pride flags.
When users type “American flag” into the emoji search bar, the gay and trans pride flags appear alongside other options such as a pirate flag and generic emojis, while the American flag emoji is nowhere to be found. This suggests that YouTube is intentionally offering the gay and trans pride flags as substitutes for the American flag.
This removal of the American flag is just another troubling development in YouTube’s ongoing issues. The platform has faced criticism for years for censoring content that aligns with pro-American, pro-Western, and conservative viewpoints. Furthermore, it has been accused of colluding with Big Pharma, the World Health Organization, and elements of the US government to suppress information exposing the risks of COVID vaccines.
This latest incident has reignited concerns about YouTube’s bias and lack of support for American values. By replacing the American flag with pride flags, the platform appears to prioritize certain political and social ideologies over national symbols. Many individuals believe that this move further highlights YouTube’s hostility towards conservative voices and its continuous efforts to control the narrative.
The removal of national flags from YouTube’s emoji list raises questions about the platform’s intentions and whether it is actively suppressing patriotic sentiments. Critics argue that this decision not only disrespects the American flag but also undermines the platform’s claim of promoting a diverse and inclusive environment.
YouTube’s actions have attracted significant attention and criticism, with many calling for transparency and fairness in the platform’s emoji options. Some users have even suggested boycotting YouTube and exploring alternative video-sharing platforms that prioritize free speech and respect for national symbols.
As YouTube continues to face backlash for its perceived bias and censorship, it remains to be seen how the platform will respond to these concerns. However, this latest incident once again highlights the importance of protecting free expression and respecting diverse perspectives in the digital realm.
