Citizen journalists highlight bribes paid in eastern Europe to relatives list deaths as COVID.

I’ve heard about how some countries, in various ways, have inflated their covid death numbers, making the alleged virus seem much more deadly.
Hadn’t heard about this though, from a Facebook friend residing in Bulgaria:
We are Scottish/Australians living in Bulgaria, and The Bulgarian people don’t like conforming too much, and we found out that the hospitals were paying family members of deceased persons 1700 leva (about $1500) to put COVID on the certificates…now 1700 leva is about 2 months wages to most BG folk…so that’s like winning the lotto.
Anyway hospitals were getting 7500 leva per COVID death. That’s awesome money to the hospitals because, you have to take your own sheets/pillows/pillowcases/syringes/medications etc. as the hospitals get SFA funding from the corrupt Turkish Bulgarian Mafia government…makes sense
