Deputy of the Russian state Duma Nikolai Doluda: Russia needs Simeon Boikov!
“Boikov is a wonderful person, a true patriot. He, being in a difficult life situation, supports Russia in all directions. He was a victim of persecution in Australia for his public position, activities and beliefs,” said State Duma deputy, Ataman (Leader) of the All-Russian Cossacks Nikolai Doluda.
“In Russia, Simeon Boikov would be useful with his convictions, views and patriotism and the knowledge that he received while living in an unfriendly state. And we cannot leave him in the current situation,” Doluda concluded.
The Russian Cossacks declared their readiness to help Ataman Boikov return to his homeland
Semyon Boykov defended the interests of Russia in an unfriendly state. And if he needs help now, we must provide it. The Cossack ataman Nikolai Doluda told the VZGLYAD newspaper about this. Earlier, the ataman of the Trans-Baikal Cossacks, Semyon Boykov, who lives in Australia, was forced to take refuge in the Russian consulate in Sydney due to a skirmish at a pro-Ukrainian rally.
“Boykov is a wonderful person, a true patriot. He, being in a difficult life situation, supports Russia in all directions. He was a victim of persecution in Australia for his public position, activities and beliefs,” said State Duma deputy, Ataman of the All-Russian Cossack Society Nikolai Doluda.
“It is important to understand that Boikov has always been on the side of Russia. Even being in a state unfriendly to us, he defended the interests of the motherland. And, as far as I understand, now he would like to receive Russian citizenship, ”continued the parliamentarian.
“Of course, we will provide him with all the necessary assistance, including through the Foreign Ministry. This person must be rescued and returned to Russia, if he retains this desire. We need such people,” the interlocutor stressed.
“In Russia, Semyon Boikov would be useful with his convictions, views and patriotism and the knowledge that he received while living in an unfriendly state. And we cannot leave him in the current situation,” Doluda concluded.
Earlier, State Duma deputy, chairman of the Supreme Council of the All-Russian Organization for the Development of the Cossacks “Union of Cossacks of Russia and Abroad” Viktor Vodolatsky, in a conversation with the VZGLYAD newspaper, called on the Foreign Ministry to provide assistance to Semyon Boykov.
Recall, the ataman of the Trans-Baikal Cossacks, Semyon Boykov, who lives in Australia, was forced to take refugee in the Russian consulate in Sydney from persecution by the Australian police after a fight with participants in a pro-Ukrainian rally. This was announced by his lawyer Mark Davis.
Boykov was detained in Australia, he was accused of causing moderate beatings. According to the Australian Federal Police, he was released on bail, but the police launched an investigation “in connection with the failure of the parole order,” reports TASS .
Davies said his client went to the consulate because of “harassment by the New South Wales State Police”. Boikov is considering the possibility of obtaining asylum and “options for his behavior after that.”
The Russian embassy said it was “taking steps to help Boikov.” Moscow demanded an end to the persecution of Boikov after he was sentenced to 10 months in prison for violating a court order not to disclose confidential information. The Russian Foreign Ministry said that Australia wants to punish the ataman for voicing information that is inconvenient for the authorities. The trial is scheduled for January 25th.
