DeSantis Comes to Former President Trump’s Defense After Indictment, Rips Biden’s Two-Tiered System

Republican presidential contender Ron DeSantis vowed on Friday to take on what he sees as a corrupted two-tier justice system in the wake of an indictment against former President Donald Trump, should the Florida governor win the White House.
In a tweet, DeSantis ripped the “weaponization” of “federal law enforcement” and added that it has become a “threat” to the country and appeared to come to Trump’s defense.
“The weaponization of federal law enforcement represents a mortal threat to a free society. We have for years witnessed an uneven application of the law depending upon political affiliation. Why so zealous in pursuing Trump yet so passive about Hillary or Hunter? The DeSantis administration will bring accountability to the DOJ, excise political bias and end weaponization once and for all,” DeSantis tweeted.

Another GOP presidential hopeful, South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, also decried the indictment, which reeks of politicization.
“One thing that makes America a city on the hill is confidence in our justice system. And today, what we see is a justice system where the scales are awaited. That seems to be the outcome of where we are today,” Scott told Fox News.
“As president of the United States, I would purge all of the injustices and impurities in our system so that every American can have confidence that they will be seen by the lady of justice with a blindfold on. That is what we need in this nation,” he added.
Rep. Mike Collins (R-Ga.) added: “America has crossed a Rubicon. A sitting President of the United States weaponizing federal law enforcement and the justice system to attack his political opponent, a former President of the United States, reeks of third world institutional decay. President Biden is indicting President Trump for having classified documents, which is ironic since Biden had similar documents strewn about his garage in Delaware, among other places, before he became president.”
He noted further: Our current two-tiered justice system has lost the faith and trust of the American people. And who wonders why? Over and over in recent years we have seen the FBI harassing anyone who dare oppose the left’s socialist agenda, including concerned parents at school board meetings, pro-life activists, peaceful J6 protestors, and so many more while ignoring the crimes of the Biden family. Hunter Biden is on video committing several federal crimes, and the entire family appears to have been taking bribes from China. It is time for Congress to rein in the FBI and DOJ, and impeach President Biden, Attorney General Garland, and Director Wray.”
Other Republicans noted that Trump’s indictment came the same day that they were able to review an FBI document from a “highly credible” source that purportedly implicates President Joe Biden in a multimillion-dollar bribery scheme involving a Ukrainian energy official.
“This is an impeachable document. President Biden should be impeached. Secondly, he should be prosecuted. This is unbelievable. It’s a pay-to-play scheme. He took a bribe from a foreign national in a foreign country that paid millions of dollars,” Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene said Friday. “He needs to be prosecuted for this, and I would argue that he should serve jail time.”
“If we were not politically divided – if we were the United States that used to exist, that is righteous, and just, if we were a just nation, Joe Biden would be impeached. No one could argue with this. Democrat or Republican, I would say no one can argue with it now,” she added.
