Donald Trump: ‘There are a lot of questions that must be answered by Dr. Fauci’
Former President Donald Trump referred this Thursday, June 3, to Dr. Anthony Fauci’s recently released emails and demands that he answer some crucial questions.
Remember that Anthony Fauci is in the eye of the storm over the release of more than 30,000 emails he sent and received early last year in the midst of the pandemic that was made public thanks to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
Trump sent two back-to-back email statements, questioning the relationship between Fauci and the Wuhan lab where the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Virus (COVID-19) allegedly escaped and insisting that the CCP pay the United States and the world a multi-trillion-dollar sum for the damage it has caused, according to the New York Post.
“There are a lot of questions that must be answered by Dr. Fauci. The funding of Wuhan by the United States was foolishly started by the Obama Administration in 2014 but ended under the Trump Administration. When I heard about it, I said ‘no way.’ What did Dr. Fauci know about ‘gain of function’ research, and when did he know it?,’” Trump said in the statement.
Trump also expressed that he is pleased that he did not follow the advice of Fauci, who was a member of his administration’s coronavirus task force.
“After seeing the emails, our Country is fortunate I didn’t do what Dr. Fauci wanted me to do. For instance, I closed our Borders to China very early despite his not wanting them closed. The Democrats and the Fake News Media even called me a ‘xenophobe.’ In the end, we saw this was a life-saving decision, and likewise with closing our borders to Europe, specifically to certain heavily infected countries,” Trump said.
The President also criticized Dr. Fauci for his contradictory comments on the use of facial masks.
Remember that Fauci has changed his position several times, from saying that they are useless to recommending the use of two or more, one superimposed on the other.
“Also, Dr. Fauci was totally against masks when even I thought they would at least be helpful. He then changed his mind completely and became a radical masker,” Trump said.
In a second email moments later, Trump added: “Now everyone, even the so-called ‘enemy,’ are beginning to say that President Trump was right about the China Virus coming from the Wuhan Lab. The correspondence between Dr. Fauci and China speaks too loudly for anyone to ignore. China should pay Ten Trillion Dollars to America, and the World, for the death and destruction they have caused!”
Gain of function
The questionable “gain-of-function” research that former President Trump wants Fauci to explain involves scientists extracting the virus from nature and manipulating it to infect humans to study potential therapies, including vaccines.
It should be remembered that Fauci poured cold water on the laboratory leak theory from the beginning of the pandemic, with the corporate media following suit.
But now, information has begun to surface that exposes him as complicit in the eventual creation of the virus in the Wuhan lab.
In 2012, Dr. Fauci defended the controversial “gain-of-function” research, despite scientific voices that such a practice could indeed cause a pandemic to emerge.
Fauci defended his controversial stance in an article reported by The Australian, which states:
“In an improbable but conceivable turn of events, what if that scientist becomes infected with the virus, leading to an outbreak and eventually triggering a pandemic? … Scientists working in this field might say, as indeed I have said, that the benefits of such experiments and the resulting knowledge outweigh the risks.”
Despite Fauci’s effort, sensible voices prevailed in the scientific community, and the U.S. government deemed the work so dangerous that it was banned in 2014.
However, according to veteran journalist and former New York Times science writer Nicholas Wade, Fauci circumvented the U.S. ban, supported the gain-of-function research, and funded it through 2019. That’s why Trump explains in his statement that when he learned of this, he immediately cut off that grant.
Fauci earmarked grant funds from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, an agency he headed and still heads, channeled through an NGO called EcoHealth Alliance.
Long story short, because of Fauci’s controversial intervention, U.S. taxpayers ended up funding experimentation on modified viruses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology lab.
Now that many truths are coming to light, are Fauci’s days numbered? Will the CCP be able to pay for its responsibility in the pandemic that sent the world into a tailspin?
