Former “Digital Adviser” to Johnson Thrown Out From Mordaunt’s Team

Penny Mordaunt has used American-style tactics to wage a “digital war” on her leadership rivals, Craig Dillon, a right-wing pundit on Fox News and the former head of her social media team has revealed.
Three similar Twitter accounts began posting earlier this month in support of Mordaunt and claiming to speak for the Tory “grassroots”. The accounts, which have been followed by influential figures in Westminster, frequently share hashtags such as #PM4PM and #ForwardWithPenny in an apparent effort to get them trending on Twitter, thus violating Twitter’s code of conduct.
“Everything we’ve been doing on this is the work we do on our US campaigns. It’s bringing US-style campaigning to the UK,” Dillon commented. He introduced himself as “a former adviser to Boris Johnson” and said that the British public had elected Johnson to be “the British Trump”. Dillon added that the ex-PM had been ousted after he fell in with an “elite crowd” and was “sucked in by the globalist agenda”
