“How many thousands of future victims of human enmity still enjoyed life that day only to turn to dust the following. Thus, a man is destined to remain the plaything of passions, to reach for the heavens with his mind and to disappear in earthly irrelevance” -Russian soldier, 1812

Putin said last year that Russia will respond correspondingly to Finland in NATO. They will increase the security on that border. That’s all. What it means for Finland is that it’s become a target for Russia for the first time. Also remember that NATO is ultimately controlled by Washington politicians. Ultimately deciding in their interests, not that of Europe. They will decide what happens – whether Finland likes it or not.

I saw a video today on rumble how a Wagner soldier was “torturing” a captured Georgian mercenary (who was fighting in Bakhmut) with a violin, playing a violin to him (now I sort of get it why everyone refers to Wagners as musicians and orchestra). Obviously, Wagners don’t watch Dima’s videos, otherwise, they would condemn violins in Ukraine 🙂 I wonder why violin torturing instead of balalaika…

Based on the summary of the reports Ukraine is losing about 600 men on average…which is close to 30 000 in the last months.

Nice to see you display topographic maps Dima. Show them more often please.Keep up the good work ! Thanks.

26:30 It would have been nice if you drew the approx. frontline on the topographical map. It’s apparent that the Russian breachhead west of Soledar almost already reached the hilltops and that’s the most important advanced line they have: the one that threatens Slavyansk-Kramatrorsk (and indirectly threatens surrounding all the southern parts of the DPR front). Sure: the advance there has been halted for the time being but there’s no reason to think it won’t be reactivated as soon as Artyomovsk has been cleaned up (ChasivYar is very secondary if Russia can capture the hills on the way to Slavyansk further north, which have no major towns).

First, greetings from Germany! Peace and freedom all lost souls! Soldiers don’t be stupid, throw all your weapons away, walk home and make love.

I do not think that the Russians are so eager after this kind of propaganda victories. To the contrary, they are extremely unsentimental when it comes to take tough decisions. E.g. retreating from Kherson even though that did not look good.

The Flamethrower system is the most Terrifying Weapon ever put to war since the Flamethrower tanks of WW2. Very Effective. it definitely erns its namesake.

Thanks Dima, for your regular updates. It now appears as though Russia can deal with the whole of NATO providing such a conflict/war remains conventional. Russia’s military production capacity, especially if it is ultimately supported by China’s military production if and when requested could see out a longer term industrial type war of attrition. Moreover Russia has a sufficient nuclear arsenal in the event that such a war was to escalate to the use of nuclear weapons; in which case the outcome is anyone’s guess.

When/if Russians take the whole eastern side of Bakmut to the railroad it will shorten the front line and allow them to move to troops to the north and south to finish the encirclement and capture the western parts of Bakmut. Plus Russia will be able to shell and bomb the last part of the defense in western Bakmut. It’s not looking good for the Ukrainians in Bakmut.
