NYT Verifies Ukraine using Cluster Bombs on Village to Repel Russian Forces
Ukraine’s army reportedly deployed cluster-bombs in the village of Husarivka back in March, according to a report by the NY Times – Western media’s first claim of Kiev using munitions, considered a war crime by the ICC.
Reporters revealed about 11 ounces of TNT were found in fragments of submunition, which leave behind effective landmines from undetonated portions.
Cluster bombs have been widely condemned by human rights experts for their indiscriminate threat to civilians and banned by a 2010 Convention signed by over 120 countries.
