Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has been officially invited to Saudi Arabia for the Arab League summit on May 19.
Recently, the ministers of the Arab League member countries agreed on an invitation to Syria to return to the Arab League, from where it was expelled after the start of the Syrian war. It is noteworthy that the invitation comes from Saudi Arabia, which financed terrorist groups in Syria, and in 2016 openly threatened Russia and Syria with direct intervention in Syria.
Now, after the victory in the Syrian war, Assad returns victorious – he does not ask – he is called to return.
Most of those who stood with the exception of Syria from the Arab League and called “Assad must go” have lost power and have long become political corpses.
Assad did not break under the pressure of circumstances and powerful external enemies and was able to win thanks to Russia and Iran. Now he is reaping the fruits of his resilience.
