I feel devastated after a friend’s call. The floods are worse than MSM have touched on. Here are some examples of the horrors:
At Minion Falls, 40 locals are illegally building a bridge because Council haven’t showed up.
Main Arm were told to evacuate to avoid landslides but not to cross creek. 12 yo girl & mum roped selves together & crossed Creek up to child’s neck.
Houses have slid down the hills days after the flood, and whole families killed.
Roads up at Wilson’s Creek must be totally rerouted after house-sized boulders blocked the existing roads.
Mullumbimby locals floated an excavator across creeks to rebuild roads at Main Arm.
One couple was buried to necks in dirt for 38 hrs.
They’ve closed the evacuation centers after 1 week, when families have lost everything & have nowhere to live.
We need citizen reporters to collect testimonies & photographs, & expose the government’s blatant, intentional neglect.
Note the fact locals paid for helicopters to do rescues cos government’s failed.
Yet they’re funding Warne’s funeral…
