The New York Times reports that Ukraine failed to take advantage of the political chaos in Russia this weekend. They couldn’t mount so much as a raid on an artillery battery while Putin was dealing with a so-called “coup”. Now Putin has a big decision to make either continue to slow grind down Ukraine’s final defenses or unleash a massive invasion with the full weight of the Russian army. It seems sentiment leans towards the second option. We ask Colonel Douglas MacGregor what he thinks about it.

My hope lies with Russia, but I can’t help but pity the Ukrainian People. There was no need for this to happen. I’m US and I blame US politicians and the people who tell them what to do. What US politicians have done is hideously immoral and should be criminal.

The parallel drawn between the Wagner Group and the French Foreign Legion is sheer class. It upgrades analysis from 2 dimensional to 3 dimensional. This man is absolutely on top of his game militarily and in the field of International Relations.
