Tomorrow marks the 3rd anniversary of publisher and Wikileaks founder Julian Assange’s illegal arrest and incarceration, a stain on global systems of justice that, to this day, reminds us all that we live in a tiered and broken system.
As of now, the publisher is being held without bail, despite having won his case originally on January 4th of 2021.
Assange is pending extradition to the United States, despite the main source of the US superseding indictment, a now imprisoned Icelandic hacker and convicted sociopathic pedophile named Sigurdur Thordarson, having admitted to embellishing details and being paid by the FBI and given immunity for his own crimes (including charges of sexual crimes against children) for doing so, and despite revelations that US authorities plotted to kill Assange alongside conducting a multi-million dollar illegal surveillance campaign that included spying on his legal team and attempting to obtain DNA samples from his infant children.
The crime for which Assange is being accused relates to the publishing of the Afghan War Diaries, which showed that the US government had, for years, vastly overstated the position of its forces and their potential for victory, and revealed both evidence of a pattern of US war crimes and cover up operations, and also gave evidence of a money laundering scheme designed to wash money out of the tax bases of the US and Europe, and into the hands of a trans-national security elite.

It is for these truths, that the journalist is being pursued.

During the course of pursuing charges, the CIA continuously attempted to associate the publisher with Russia, going so far as to create fake russian awards to give him, and dedicating an entire team of agents to attempt to fabricate an assocation. It was only thanks to in depth reporting that we have since come to find that the CIA failed in this mission, and simply let the Clinton campaign allege “The Russian Wikileaks” in an interview without any substantiating proof. A comment then laundered through various media outlets unquestioningly.

At the heart of their prosecution, are your rights and liberties. Your right to know is sharply at risk, because the precedent set by this case would allow countries to extract and imprison with impunity, any person they deemed critical of their rule.
Your freedom of speech and right to publish information are also at risk here.
Assange is being charged under the Espionage Act, but not with espionage charges. A unique caveat that risks your freedom. Because the legal precedent being set here, is over the publishing of information, not the procurement of it. Meaning classified documents given to the press by whistleblowers, would become strictly illegal and prosecutable as acts of terrorism/espionage.
It is a highly draconian maneuver designed to completely eliminate your ability to dissent the rule of law.
It is up to the People, not to let tomorrow pass in silence. Not to let yourselves be quietly cowed into submission.
They treat you like livestock,
But that doesnt mean you have to act like livestock.
Speak out.
Speak up.
