“Unacceptable”: Zelensky parades Azov fighters at Greek parliament – MPs boycott
Opposition MPs reacted angrily to Ukrainian President Zelensky’s address to Greek parliament Thursday after members of the Azov Battalion joined the appeal for support, branding his appearance “unacceptable and inappropriate”.
After the joint address – which was already boycotted by many MPs – ended, opposition lawmakers refused to stand, and demanded to know why the ethnic Greek Mariupol-born fighter was allowed to appear.
Opposition party SYRIZA’s secretary Olga Gerovasili claimed her members showed “respect and solidarity” with Zelensky before demanding answers about whether the Parliament Speaker was aware of the Azov Battalion representation.
