Transgender mass killer Audrey Hale expressed excitement about shooting privileged white kids, according to a leaked document. Conservative commentator Steve Crowder recently published three pages of what is believed to be Hale’s hate-filled “manifesto,” which had been kept from the public by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department. Hale went on a shooting spree on March 27 at The Covenant School, a private Christian academy in Green Hills, Tennessee, killing three children and three staffers before being shot by police.
The motive for the shooting had previously been unclear, but the leaked pages reveal Hale’s intense hatred for “little crackers” – white kids – who attended “private fancy schools with those fancy khakis and sports backpacks.” In a chilling entry dated February 3, Hale wrote, “Wanna kill all you little crackers!!! Bunch of little faggots w/ your white privlages [sic] f*** you faggots,” under the heading “Kill those kids!!!” These words provide insight into the mindset of the shooter and the disturbing intentions behind the attack.
Hale, who was white herself and had attended The Covenant School in her childhood, was undergoing treatment for an emotional disorder at the time of the shooting. According to MNPD chief John Drake, Hale had high-functioning autism and had recently started identifying as male, using he/him pronouns and the name Aiden. However, her parents reportedly rejected both her transgender identity and her previous identification as a lesbian due to their religious beliefs.
Furthermore, a diary entry made by Hale on the day of the shooting suggests that she had been planning the attack for a longer period than initially believed. She expressed satisfaction at narrowly avoiding being caught in 2021 and expressed a desire for a high death count, emphasizing her readiness to die in the process.
The leaked pages also include a detailed schedule of “DEATH DAY,” the date of the shooting, which reveals meticulous planning. Hale allocated time in five-minute increments for tasks such as “lock and load all weapons” and “test knife or glass breaker (dad’s old cars).” This level of preparation and organization illustrates the premeditated nature of the attack.
While police found maps among Hale’s possessions indicating plans for future shootings, including targeting her own family members, there is no evidence that she attempted to carry out those plans before her death. The manifesto, which provides further insight into her mindset and potential future actions, has been withheld by the police due to an ongoing investigation. However, organizations such as the Tennessee Firearms Association and the National Police Association are suing to make the document public, while the school and victims’ parents are seeking to block its release.
It remains unclear how Crowder obtained the manifesto, although Alex Jones, another conservative commentator, implied that it was leaked by local government authorities. Some individuals who claim to have read the entire document argue that Crowder’s selection of pages is “EXTREMELY misleading,” as Hale apparently expressed hatred towards everyone, not just specific racial or social groups. Crowder challenged these claims by urging the release of the entire document for the public to assess.
The shooting carried out by Audrey Hale has ignited discussions about the motivations behind such acts of violence and the importance of addressing mental health issues promptly. As the legal battles over the manifesto’s release continue, it is crucial to understand the factors that contributed to this tragedy and work towards preventing similar incidents in the future.
