Pakistan has strongly urged an immediate end to the ongoing violence between Hamas militants and Israel, expressing deep concerns for the human cost of the escalating situation. The country’s Foreign Ministry released a statement condemning Israel for what it described as the “brutalization” of Palestinians. Pakistan has consistently advocated for a two-state solution for Israel and Palestine, emphasizing the establishment of a viable, sovereign, and contiguous State of Palestine based on the pre-1967 borders.

President Arif Alvi of Pakistan called for an immediate ceasefire, asserting that peace cannot be achieved without condemning the usurpation and brutalization of Palestinian rights by Israel. He also accused Israel of continuously annexing land. These statements were made on social media platform X, where the President emphasized the importance of addressing the underlying causes of the conflict.

The current wave of violence began on Saturday morning when Hamas and other Palestinian militant groups launched a surprise attack on Israeli cities and military outposts. In response, the Israel Defense Forces carried out airstrikes on the Gaza Strip. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the country is at war and pledged to demolish all sites used by Hamas.

Unfortunately, the conflict has resulted in a significant loss of life. According to officials from both sides, nearly 300 Israelis and at least 232 Palestinians have been killed. These numbers highlight the urgent need for a resolution that would prevent further bloodshed and protect the lives of innocent civilians.

Pakistan’s stance is aligned with many other countries and international organizations that have called for an immediate ceasefire and a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The international community recognizes the urgency of finding a just and lasting solution that respects the rights and aspirations of both Israelis and Palestinians.

In addition to calling for an end to the violence, Pakistan has also stressed the importance of addressing the root causes of the conflict. The country believes that a comprehensive and inclusive approach is necessary to resolve the longstanding issues between Israel and Palestine. This includes addressing issues such as the status of Jerusalem, the right of return for Palestinian refugees, and the illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied territories.

Pakistan’s position reflects its longstanding support for the Palestinian cause. The country has consistently advocated for the rights of the Palestinian people and played an active role in various international forums to promote a just and peaceful solution. Pakistan’s call for an immediate ceasefire and its condemnation of the brutalization of Palestinians by Israel is a reflection of its commitment to upholding human rights and promoting peace in the region.

The escalating violence between Hamas militants and Israel is deeply concerning, and it is imperative for all parties involved to prioritize the safety and well-being of civilians. The international community must intensify diplomatic efforts to bring an end to the conflict and create the conditions for a lasting peace in the region. Pakistan, along with other countries, stands ready to support any initiative that leads to a just and peaceful resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
